Leaving Rathkeale we moved onto Wellington. First stop was an hour visit in the world renowned Te Papa museum where we viewed an exhibition on ancient Mauri civilisation and Te Papa’s most popular exhibition to date; Gallipoli. Afterwards the evening was spent at leisure to see the city and grab some dinner before a well earned early bed-time!
On our final full day of the tour we visited Weta Workshop. Weta Workshop is an incredibly successful design team that provide super realistic special effects for the film industry. On the tour we learnt about the Quality Assurance and manufacturing methods they use to create specialised props. Additionally, they had many props on display from films such as Lord of the Rings and District 9 to name a few from the hundreds they have worked on. Later on, we had free time to purchase souvenirs from within the city before resting for the final night Tour dinner including; a summary of the performances on and off the field, presentations, and prizes!
A truly fantastic trip to Australia and New Zealand.
